TEGANS AUSTRALIAN COBBERDOGS
MAKING THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE
Our puppy, Lyla, is now Bella. As we spent time with her and got to know her, we thought that she was a Bella. We have, until earlier this year, been living in Italy, a country that we absolutely love. Bella means beautiful in Italian and our little puppy is just that. She is so adorable and we love her to bits.
We cannot believe how quickly she learns. In just three days, she has learnt to sit and come on command, she now walks with a lead, she has so far, never gone to the toilet inside the house, she has no problem travelling in the car, she sleeps through the night........ Is she really only a little puppy!! Bella also loves to play and bounce around the house, running and tumbling, chewing and playing tug with our socks etc. We took her to the beach yesterday and she went straight into the water. She seemed to love it which is great as we live near the beach Everywhere we go with her, people stop us, want to pat her and ask what sort of dog she is. So many people are hearing of your wonderful Cobberdogs. Thank you for our beautiful Bella. We will keep in touch. Here are a couple of photos. Take care,Judy |
My husband Frank and I purchased our beautiful Cobberdog puppy, Bella (Lyla) from you in October last year. I hope you and beautiful Cobberdogs are all fine and things are going well for you all.
Bella is now 9 months old and is the most wonderful dog we have ever had. She is well and truly part of our little family and puts big smiles on our faces every day. I think she loves her life here, walking across the cliff from Newport to Bilgola Beach most days, loves chasing balls and sticks on the sand at the beach and also loves to swim. She is extremely social, always assuming that every dog and person she meets will be as eager as she is to play. Three months ago I had surgery to remove two thirds of my bowel as, unknown to me, I had a large tumorous mass growing on my bowel. Bella has been amazing, so intuitive and loving and I know she has helped me through the recovery process. We love her very much. |
MELLODIE
MY ALEX IS A GOD SENT GIFT. HE IS SO FRIENDLY TO EVERYONE. JUST WANTS TO SAY HI. HE IS SO WELL BEHAVED..THOUGH HE LOVES TO DIG IN THE BACKYARD. HE IS DOING SO WELL WITH HIS POTTY TRAINING. HE DOES LOVE HIS CHEESE WHICH HE HAS LEARNED TO SIT RIGHT AWAY. HE IS A VERY CALM PUPPY. HE ALREADY SITS NEXT TO ME WHENEVER I RELAX. HE LIKES TO BE CLOSE TO PEOPLE. HE GETS THE HICCUPS QUITE OFTEN BUT I AM SURE HE WILL OUT GROW THEM. SEE ATTACHED PHOTOS.. BY THE WAY...HE IS SUCH A BEAUTIFUL PUPPY. HIS COLOR IS AMAZING. |
Hi Mellodie,
Bailey arrived safe and sound Tuesday night. No need for yuppie yuppie, came right out of the crate and into Marlene's arms and started licking her face and wagging her tail. She is amazing. We have already seen her stubborn side and her loving side. She is a smart little thing. Going potty outside most of the time, made on the paper once or twice and a few accidents on the carpet but are happy with her progress in the few days we have had her. Took her to the vet on Friday and of course they had never heard of the breed but loved her as well and had to show her to everyone in their office. We are actually getting an extra hour of sleep the last two mornings. We covered her crate do she seems to be sleeping longer. My wife and I have to whisper so she thinks we are sleeping and after a few minutes of crying and whining she falls a sleep then wakes up around 3-4 am for a potty break then a few more whimpers and back to sleep. It's like having a baby all over again. Forgot how much work it is following her around and her following us around. Took her to work last Wed - Fri and she keeps my staff amused. Our clients that have met her have all been amazed at how cute and well behaved she is. You can tell each day though she is more comfortable and keeps pushing the limits. She is teething on me right now. She loves yogurt. You know I was a little concerned at the beginning but so far she is everything you promised and we hoped for and more. We will keep you posted with photos as she grows.
Thank you so much
Sandy & Marlene

Mellodie,
Rica is gorgeous, super smart and very social! Remi and Rica are getting along very well. Rica just took a couple of new toys for her and put them in her crate to hide them from Remi. Remi took them while she was sleeping and tried to take them outside. She discovered they were not there, found them and hid them in her special spot!. Too funny. Remi let her have his "chew" - bully stick last night. She knows where her water and food dish are and eats heartily. I think she would tackle Remi's too if she could - definitely food motivated! I had them both sitting together waiting to be fed this morning! So precious. Thank you so much Mellodie for such super special and amazing dogs. You are the best! No potty accidents - she feels so special with that look in her eyes after she does her business. I so hope and pray you will be doing well soon Mellodie. I will talk again soon. Hugs to you all from all of us. Oh one more thing. Rica is especially fond of my husband. She snuggled right into him and when he would walk away she would follow him and whimper a little. Tim is already calling her "my girl"!!!! I think I should be jealous. But too precious to witness. |
melodie, as I sit at my son's dr's appt with my angel puss, Naimh (aka nevie!) laying in the waiting room with me, I just have to write to say thank you for this absolute gift of a pooch! she is the best! She is so smart, so loving, so PERFECT!
I take her everywhere and she is always so well behaved. I just needed to let you know how wonderful she is! I didn't think we could ever get as lucky as we were with Nickel... but I realize it wasn't luck... IT WAS YOU! hope you are well. and your mother as well. Take care and much love, xoxo Kristin |
My daughter is here now - so finally did a photo of all 4 kids with Clover to celebrate Clover turning 5 months old yesterday. We've been taking her our for walks in the early morning and late evening....and even then, she doesn't seem to want to go too far. I'm sure she'll go further as she gets older (and as the weather gets cooler). Still working on various 'slop' variations for her to find the ones that she prefers (the ones with various salad leaves didn't work, nor did the parsley based one).
I'm very happy that we have help at home, so that there is always someone with Clover (we took the kids out today, so was reassured to know that she wasn't lonely). Clover is a lovely addition to the house - I take her with me to tuck all the kids in before bed at night. Our cat is still suspicious of Clover - but getting closer to her (and Clover was able to tap her gently with a paw the other day before the cat ran away). THANK YOU so much for all of your work with her (and all of the other Cobberdogs). Speaking of Clover, she's looking a bit excited so either time for a walk or throwing the ball for her. All the best, Karen Abu Dhabi |
Mellodie,
I wanted to let you know how much I love Oliver and how wonderful you have trained him. He has had a few accidents but I was able to catch him in a couple of them and he was taken outside and finished his business.
He sits before eating and has learned to use the doggie door. He rings the bell before he has to go out and sometimes just rings them to play. He also comes when called and can walk on a leash as long as Biscuit comes with us! Biscuit is a great teacher!
Oliver does not like to be scolded and is very quiet but very smart. He knows his name now and next week we start professional training.
Biscuit and Oliver have finally become friends. It was difficult the first two weeks and I had to learn to put my foot down. Today Biscuit and Oliver are like father and son and I love seeing them together. When I am away and Oliver is in his crate, Biscuit sits next to the crate. He lets Oliver lick his face now and even bite on his ears.
Oliver makes me laugh at how much he loves belly rubs and has turned out to be a perfect fit for me. I had forgotten how much work a puppy is! But he is a joy and a great companion!
Thanks for your wonderful training and wonderful dog. He is a joy!
Sincerely, Denise
Mellodie,
Yes you picked the perfect pup for me. I can’t tell you how much joy Oliver has given me and my family. Not only are your dogs friendly, lovable and easy to train but very healthy! Biscuit will be 13 next week and has never been sick!
Thank you so much for breeding such wonderful pups!
Sincerely, Denise

Funny thing..
Manuka has a little habit of barking at times quite a few noisy dogs here. I have had workmen here over summer they unfortunately taught him to jump up on them so about a month ago when they returned Manuka jumped up on them I put him in his out door crate. The men got the point. A couple of evenings later Manuka barked at something going pass Shari called out and normally Manuka will come to the back door we just quietly talk to him but this time he put himself in the crate as if he knew he was doing wrong, it was so funny to see When Shari is at school and I hang washing out he will go up to the clothes sniff then lay under her clothes on the line. This something he does all the time. |

Hi Mellodie
We are all so in love with Paris. She has been a wonderful addition to our family. She's so funny she likes sleeping with her head under a pillow! It's hilarious. She has such a great character. When she's in trouble she talks back to us. She's super clever learning so much. Thank you again. Hope you enjoy seeing these photos of Paris growing up. Warm regards Shelley |
Hi Mellodie and Len
What a beautiful girl we have and so well behaved. Thank you for looking after her so well. She is so laid back, you would think she has been here for weeks. We stopped once on the way back for a drink of water and then onto home. The family have all agreed they like the name Remy so she's now Remy Red Girl 😁 She's had a little run out on the grass late this afternoon and chased my daughter around and around. She's eaten some kibble (grain free from Coles) and played in the lounge with her new toys. Her favourite is a plaited pair of stockings that I made for her. Just took her back outside and told her to go wee wee and like a good girl she did her business straight away. (More luck than training though I'd say). Kids are stoked and 19 yo son is even leaving his 48 hour marathon gaming event to come see her. Cat is not yet sure of her and hissed at her. He seems a bit scared of Remy which is hilarious considering he is four times her size. Here's a couple of photos. Trish and Garry xo |
